Apple has launched a beta program for 5G on Apple devices
Apple users must register for the beta program on the website, set up a profile, and download the software.
A software upgrade will enable 5G access on Apple devices, while service providers Jio, Airtel and Vodafone will get 5G network access, the sources said.
Jio users with iPhone 12 or later are invited to the Jio welcome event in the city where JioTrue5G was launched.
Jio Welcome Offer provides users with unlimited 5G data at 1Gbps speed at no additional charge.
However, there is a condition that prepaid users must be on an active plan of Rs 239 or higher. All postpay users can use this trial version.
Airtel doesn’t offer special 5G offers to users like Jio. In cities/regions where Airtel 5G networks are launched, users can test 5G services as part of their existing plans by updating to the latest Apple beta software.
Although an email sent to Apple did not require an immediate response, the company said last month: 5G will be enabled through a software update and will be available to iPhone users in December.
Airtel and Jio customers on iPhone 14, iPhone 13, iPhone 12 and iPhone SE (3rd generation) models can experience 5G as part of Apple’s iOS 16 beta software program.
The Apple Beta Software Program is open to anyone with a valid Apple ID who agrees to the Apple Beta Software Program Agreement during registration.
If you have an iCloud account with an Apple ID, we recommend using that account. If you don’t have an iCloud account or another Apple ID, you can create one.
Customers who want to use the beta software should back up their iPhone before installing the beta software.
We recommend that you only install beta software on non-production devices that are not business critical.
You can provide Apple with feedback on quality and usability, which allows Apple to identify and fix problems and further improve Apple’s software.
The iOS beta comes with the built-in Feedback Assistant app, which can be opened from the Home screen on the iPhone or iPad or from the Dock on the Mac.
